The Master Tasks list displays a list of all tasks that have been created within your Equinox system.
By default, ‘Live & Pending’ tasks will be visible.

Access the Master Tasks list
There are three ways to access the Master Tasks list:
1. From the Main Menu
Click on the Main Menu tab in the tool bar across the top of the screen
Click on ‘Master Tasks’ in the middle of the screen
2. Left Hand Menu
In most screens within Equinox, ‘Master Tasks’ is a Navigation short cut in the left hand menu.
3. Notifications Icon
Click on the notification icon in the top right hand corner of the tool bar to be taken to the Master Tasks list.
Filter tasks on the Master Tasks screen
The Master Tasks screen will display all tasks that have been added to your system. By default, ‘Live & Pending’ tasks will be visible.
You can filter the task results in two ways:
1. Filter by Column Heading
Filter the columns to find specific tasks.
- Add data to the search fields above the column headings
E.g Select a tasks status or task user/enter a case code.
- Click ‘Filter’ to search for all tasks that match this data.
- Click ‘Clear Filter’ to view all tasks again.
2. ‘Master Tasks list – Users’
In the top left hand corner of the Master Tasks screen is a link called ‘Master Tasks list – Users’.
- Click this link to use the advanced task search by user.
- There will now be three user columns that can be used to find tasks:
Column Heading | Description |
Task Responsible | The user that the task is assigned to. |
Case Attorney | May be called Fee Earner/User. This is the primary user on the case the tasks are linked to. |
Case Formalities | May be called a different title. This is the second user on the case the tasks are linked to. |
- Use the radio buttons to specify how your search with work:
Filtering using (AND): Select if you are searching for tasks that match all the criteria entered in the user columns.
E.g. task user is Agnes AND the case attorney is Bertie. This will not include any of Agnes’s tasks that are not linked to a case where Bertie is the attorney.
Filtering using (OR): Select if you are searching for tasks that match at least one of the criteria entered in the user columns.
E.g. task user is Agnes OR the case Attorney is Bertie. This will include all tasks assigned to Agnes and any tasks that are linked to a case where Bertie is the attorney.
- Enter the user search criteria and click ‘Filter’
- Click ‘Clear Filter’ to view all tasks again
- Click the ‘Master Tasks List’ in the top left hand corner to return to the standard Master Tasks screen.
View the total number of tasks
To view the total number of tasks that match the filter options selected scroll to the bottom of the Master Tasks screen.
The system will advise how may tasks are displayed on the screen and the total number of tasks found.
Change the number of tasks displayed
To change the number of tasks displayed on the screen update the ‘Items per page’ drop down list in the right hand corner.
Display option | Description |
Number | Choose the number of tasks to display per page. |
All | Display all tasks (this may take some time to load the page if there is a large number of tasks to display). |
Day Ahead | All overdue tasks and tasks due in the next day. |
Week Ahead | All overdue tasks and tasks due in the next week. |
Month Ahead | All overdue tasks and tasks due in the next month. |
Customise the columns in the Master Tasks list
You can customise the columns that are displayed on the Master Tasks list in the User Preferences.
