If a case has more than one client, it is possible to split the amount of an invoice between all or some of these clients.
Note: Split invoices can only be generated on individual cases.
Additional clients are added from the Contacts tab of a case.
To generate a split invoice:
- Go to the Charges tab of a case
- Click ‘Billing’ in the top right
This opens the Equinox Billing Wizard.
There are 3 steps to generate the invoice:
- Step 1 – Currency and Discounts
- Step 2 – Invoice Adjustments
- Step 3 – Produce Invoice
Step 1 – Currency and Discounts
This step enables users to set the currency and add billing discounts for the invoice.
In additional to the usual options available at Step 1 of the Billing Wizard (See Generate an Invoice), there an option to choose how the invoice amount will be divided.
Invoice Split Settings | |
Percentage Client Pays | The name of each client on the case is listed in this section. Enter the percentage you would like each client to pay. |
Do not split this invoice | Tick this box to prevent the invoice from being split. In this scenario, the invoice will be generated for the main client on the case. |
Click ‘Next’ to proceed to Step 2.
When you generate the split invoice at Step 3 of the billing wizard a folder will be downloaded with a separate invoice for each client.
The invoice will display all charges with the total amount to pay. A box beneath the total displays the amount required for that client to pay.
