The details of a Madrid can be managed in the ‘International Registration’ field on the Details tab of the WO case.
Note: If this field is not visible it can be added via the Change Case Layout option. Please see the section on Case Details for more information.
The ‘International Registration’ field will display the text ‘National Rights tool not yet run’, until you have created cases for the designated states.
Once you have run the National Rights tool, the field will display:
- Base Registrations: This will default to show the country code of the case used to generate the Madrid case.
- Active Countries: This displays the country codes of any designated states that have live cases created using the National Rights option.
- In-Active Countries: This displays the country codes of any designated states that have closed cases created using the National Rights option.
Edit a Madrid
Click ‘Manage International Registration’ on the top right of the field.
You will have the option it edit:
- Registration details of all cases within the family
- The case listed as the base registration
- The extension countries
- Registration progress in each extension country
Registration Details
Editing the Registration Details at the top of the page will update all members’ details.
The following fields are available to update:
- Short Title/Long Title
- Type of Mark
- Grant/Reg Date
- Expiry Renewal Date
- Click ‘Update’ to save.
Base Registration
If you have created the Madrid case using the ‘Generate Madrid’ option, the case listed as the Base Registration will default to be the original case. You can also manually record and edit the base registration:
- Click ‘Add Base Registration’
- Select the type of case
- Equinox cases require the user to type the case code.
- Non-Equinox cases require users to input the country, application and registration dates and numbers.
- Click ‘Create’ to save the new Base Registration. Click ‘Cancel’ to go back.
Extensions
This provides an overview of the Madrid’s designated states.
- Case code (this is a short cut that can be clicked to view the details of a designated state).
- Active Countries
- Inactive Countries
- Filing Date
- Member Count
Note: To add new designated states you will need to edit the Designated States field on the Madrid details and run the National Rights option.
Registration Progress
This provides an overview of the details of each designated state.
- Case code (this is a short cut that can be clicked to view the details of a designated state).
- Country
- Country Code
- Filing Date
- Nat/Reg Entry Date
- Classes
- Case Status
