In the left hand menu, there is a section called 'Recent Cases' which lists the last cases you have viewed in the system.

These case codes are shortcuts to return to view these cases.

The number of cases listed here can be customized from 1 to 10, under the System > User Preferences > Cases. For more information on User Preferences please see the module of System Administration.
