We have officially released a new version of our Equinox Microsoft Office Plugin in February 2022. The team have been working hard on adding lots of new features and functionality, and are excited for our users to enjoy the benefits! The below text outlines several of the key improvements we have made. 

Improved lookup of matter codes within email subject lines

Matter codes will be detected in email subject lines if they match the standard matter code generation format set up on your system, or if they are between pipe characters. Regular expressions can also be set to expand the lookup if required. This makes it quicker and easier to save an email to a matter

Automatic setting of the email date and timestamp as the Equinox document date

The date and timestamp of the email will be set as the date of the Equinox document (rather than the date of upload) by default

Automatic setting of the To/From fields for emails

The sender and recipient information from emails will be read by the plugin and automatically populated in the corresponding Equinox fields

Quick save option for emails
A quick save option to allow emails to be filed quickly, without needing to fill out document details

Send and save functionality (with domain exclusion)
Automatically display the Save to Matter window each time an email is sent, without needing to go to your sent items and file the email from there. Also including the option to not bring up the save to matter window automatically if all recipients match a specified list of domains.

Added document notes field when saving to matter
Added the option to input document notes via the plugin when saving an email or document, rather than having to enter these on Equinox

Added ability to save to multiple matters
Save an email or document to multiple matters at once through the plugin – including the option to quickly select all matters in the family, or all linked matters on Equinox.

Improved document check in/check out functionality
Documents automatically checked back in to Equinox when closed, and the ability to check in or check out a document through the plugin ribbon

Set document publication status and convert to PDF when saving to Equinox
Added the document’ published status’ field to the plugin, which allows the document to be finalised and converted to PDF when saving back to Equinox

Compatible with OneDrive
Previous issues with the plugin and OneDrive running at the same time have been resolved

Improved login process
When logging into the plugin for the first time, the user is now asked to authorise the plugin by logging into Equinox on the web browser, rather than inputting the login details into the plugin
