Case information available in Client Access
Each case can contain the following tabs:
Details
Tasks
Charges
Documents
Notes for Attorney
Renewals (if the renewals functionality is enabled on your system)
The case tabs that are visible will depend on the access settings linked to the Client Access account.
Case Tabs
This section explains what information clients will be able to see on each of the case tabs.
Note: Clients can only see the tabs you give them permission to view.
Details
This screen shows an overview of the case details, showing similar information to the case details tab in Equinox.
The Details box on the left-hand side of the screen contains the key case details fields, and only shows fields that are visible on the corresponding case details layout inside of Equinox.
The box on the right-hand side of the screen will show details about any Related Cases, including:
Parent Case
Children Cases
Family Cases
To view a related case, clients should:
Click on the case's case code in the Related Cases box
They'll then be taken to the Details screen of that case
The Lookup external sources box appears on the bottom right of the page and will provide links to external registers based on the application, publication or grant numbers where these are available, for example the UKIPO.
Tasks
This screen lists tasks related to the case. The tasks that are visible are controlled within the Client Access settings page inside Equinox, with options to:
Only show tasks with specific task types
Only show fatal tasks
Also show task done dates for the visible tasks
Your clients can filter tasks by:
Status
Importance
Type
Charges
This screen shows charges linked to a case. The charges that are visible are controlled within the Client Access settings page inside Equinox, with options to:
Only show Billed Charges
Also Show No-Charge/Non-Chargeable charges
Your clients can filter your charges by:

Documents
On this screen your clients will be able to see documents associated with a case. The documents that are visible are controlled by the document 'locked' status inside Equinox. Only documents that are unlocked on Equinox will be visible in Client Access.
Notes for Attorney
Clients can use this screen to email information to the attorney working on a case.
To message the case attorney from Client Access, clients should:
Enter the information you want to communicate in the Subject and Message fields
Click Send
Note: Your clients can't edit the email address in the 'For User' field, this is the email address linked to the account of the case Attorney.
Renewals
This screen shows your clients renewal details related to the case. You must be using the Equinox renewals functionality for this to be visible.
You can access information for each renewal year by clicking the Year X tab at the top of the screen.
The details box on this page lists the:
- Due Date
- Instruction
- Renewal Year
- Completion status
If the renewal year has used the grace period, the below fields will also be visible in the details box:
- Pre-Grace Due Date
- Grace Period Length
