This article outlines how to set up Gmail with Equinox, and the limitations of its use.

To link your Gmail account to Equinox, you first need to alter some settings.

1. Head to System -> System Preferences -> General

- From here, toggle ON 'Smart Templates via Gmail'

2. Head to System -> User Preferences -> Gmail

- From here, input the user email into the 1st field

- If the user is using outlook to operate their Gmail, select the 2nd toggle on. If not leave blank

Gmail Limitations:

Gmail on Outlook works exactly the same as expected. 

Gmail on a web browser looses the below functionality only:

- Quick Drag & Drop Save option

- Workaround - simply go into the email, download it from your web browser then drag and drop the downloaded file in Equinox.

- All plugin features are no longer available.

Gmail affects the types of correspondence templates that can be used in Equinox:

- Standard Templates CAN be used

- Smart Templates CANNOT be used

If there are Smart Templates in your Equinox system, but your user profile is set up to use Gmail, when you go to send correspondence, the Smart Templates will not appear in the list of templates available for you to use.
