The Member Rights option allows users to quickly create national phase cases for any Registered Community Designs (CRDs) or EU Trade Marks (EUTMs) that have been granted by the EUIPO.

Steps to Create Member Rights Cases


The steps below outline the process:


1. Go to the Details tab of the EM case 

 

 

2. Click ‘Member Rights’ in the left hand menu Options

If no grant/registration date is available, a warning message will appear asking if you wish to continue. Click ‘Continue’ or ‘Back’ as necessary.

 

 

 

 

3. Select Countries

Tick the box next to any countries where you would like to create a new case or choose the ‘Tick All’ option at the top left.

 

 

4. Check the additional case details to copy (see Default Member Rights Fields table below)

5. Click ‘Generate’

            This takes you to the confirmation screen

 

 

6. Confirm 

Click ‘Generate’ again to create the member rights cases if you are happy with the details. Or click ‘Cancel’ to return to the main case without creating the new cases.

 

Once you confirm you will be taken to the Details screen of the main case you were viewing.

 

The member rights cases you have created will automatically be added to the case family and be visible from the Family tab.

 

The case codes of the child cases will also be visible on the right hand side of the parent case Details.
