This article outlines how to create a new PCT case within Equinox using the ‘Import XML’ option.
Note: This option is currently compatible with Patenscope XML files for PCT Applications.
- Download the XML file from Patentscope (https://patentscope.wipo.int/)
The download link is usually found on the Documents tab.
2. On the Main Menu of Equinox click ‘Import XML’ in the left hand menu
3. Select the XML file from your downloads (you may need to extract this file from a zipped download folder first) and click ‘Continue’
4. Choose the client of the case using one of the following options:
> Select a suggested Applicant
> Select a suggested Agent
> Select an existing Client in your Address Book
> Manually create a new Client in your Address Book
5. Review the case details and add any missing fields (e.g. Short Title)
6. Enter a case code (this tool is not compatible with the automatic case code generation)
7. Click ‘Create The New Case’
The case details and any new contacts will be saved into your system.
If you use Correspondence Management ensure that any new contacts are configured as Correspondence contacts within the Address Book.
